Clubs & Activities

Current LMS clubs and activities are listed below. New clubs may be added as the year progresses, so check back for updates. Check the daily announcements and newsletters for current information about our clubs and activities. Activity buses are available on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday only. They leave the school at 4:15 p.m. Students can pick up a route sheet in the front office.

There will be a Cheerleading informational meeting on Thursday, September 16th after school from 2:30-2:45 in the cafeteria. Miss Szekely will answer questions and give information about the upcoming cheer season/what to expect this year. This is for 7th and 8th graders only. If you cannot make the meeting, please see Miss Szekely in room 208 to get any information you missed.

Chess Club

Choir

Roar Choir Starts Tuesday, September 2nd!

If your student likes to sing, make new friends, and enjoys making music with others, consider joining the Roar Choir! We meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:20-3:15 and students can take the activity bus home if needed (sign in at homework club after choir until the bus leaves at 4:10). There is NO AUDITION, all singers and grade levels are welcome! We rehearse year round through May and perform at multiple school assemblies and evening concerts. Students can be involved in other activities even if time conflicts - just have them communicate with the directors, Mrs. Witt and Mr. Agress, and we'll work out a solution so they can still be a part of the choir! Cooking Club

2025-2026 Dates:

Cooking Club sign up is open for the year. If you are interested in joining one of the 4 week groups please sign up in Clever. During the meetings we will have ingredients for you and your friends to prepare tasty food to enjoy together. Contact Mrs. Cuchna with any questions.

RED Cooking Club will meet on Tuesdays in October. 10/7, 10/14, 10/21 and 10/28

ORANGE Cooking Club will meet on Thursdays in October 10/9, 10/16, 10/23 & 10/30

Fantasy Football Club

Do you love the NFL? Then Fantasy Football Club is FOR YOU! Come learn how to play a competitive football management game against your friends. Every NFL game of the season earns you points that you need to beat your weekly opponents! Fantasy Football Club is open to boys and girls, grades 6-8. No experience required!

Our first informational meeting will be held on Thursday, August 28th from 2:15 - 3 pm in Lab 5 (across from the STEM room). Bring your laptop.

Our second meeting will be the MANDATORY DRAFT on Tuesday, September 2nd from 2:15 - 3:30 pm. You must be present at the draft in order to play. No exceptions. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Massaro or Mr. Kalas.

Homework Club

Homework Club starts 8/26/25

On Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, LMS hosts a homework club for students. Staff supervise students who might need a place to do work after a club ends until the activity buses leave at 4:10. Please note that this is a study hall environment until students from clubs and activities arrive at 3:30. At that point, it is a busier environment and not ideal to complete homework assignments. No advance sign up is required to attend, and students are not required to stay the entire time if they have made pick up arrangements to leave before 4:00. We encourage parents and students to discuss their after school arrangements in advance.

Science Olympiad

Science Olympiad is a club that allows students to explore science and engineering topics outside of the classroom. There are 23 events, in the life, earth, and physical sciences, chemistry, technology and engineering, and the nature of science. Students can work together on knowledge tests, labs and build events. For more information, see Ms. Harper in Lab 3.

We meet on Thursdays, 2:15 - 3:15 starting this coming Thursday, 9/11. It will continue to meet every Thursday throughout the school year, ending the week of March 7th . (unless we go to state, which is April 18th.

We have three meets -

1/24 at Crystal Lake Central

1/31 Kildmas Tournament at Thomas Middle School

3/7 Regionals (don't know if it at Harper or MCC yet)

4/18 State at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign

Ski Club

Are you ready to hit the slopes and experience the thrill of skiing and snowboarding this winter season? Join Mountain Lions, Lundahl's Ski and Snowboard Club! Mountain Lions will be offering group trips to Alpine Valley this winter, instructional opportunities for beginners, and discounted passes for lift tickets and equipment rentals. A mandatory parent meeting will take place in Lundahl's Library on November 5th at 6pm. Please see Mrs. Panke or Mrs. Resac for more information.
